"It's so good, even my Italian relatives think it is another jar of my homemade ‘gravy.’"

Dear Dellamore,

I am the cook in the family and have been using Newman’s spaghetti sauce for several years. I add mushrooms, sausage, hamburger, onions, and garlic and simmer it until done. It has always worked well for me.

Last week when I was shopping the usual sauce I use was not in stock. I looked at all the spaghetti sauces and found your marinara. It was double the price of all the other sauces on the shelf. I looked twice and asked for a price check to be certain. Sure enough your sauce was $6.59 a jar.

I decided to try you out after seeing a web address on the side. I figured after I made the sauce the usual way and it wasn’t any better than the less expensive brand I would send off a scalding letter telling you just how arrogant I thought you were for charging what you did and making the bold claims you did on the jar.

Let me tell you just how wrong I was. That is undoubtedly the finest marinara I have ever sampled. I tried many types until I found the Newman’s sauce, which I enjoyed very much. But it can’t stand up to the sauce you make. If this was sauce your mama made at home I wouldn’t be surprised if the entire family weight 400 pounds a piece.

Brava, Dellamore for making something better than I can get in any restaurant in Dallas, Texas.

Sincerely, your newest customer,

Michael Leath
